We Are Turning 10!
September 15th, 2024 marks 10 years since the first day we opened our doors at ECC. We certainly could not have done it without the amazing community of people we have had the privilege of taking care of and the local people/businesses we have partnered with along the way.
Ten years ago, we were young and newly married, just finishing our eighth year of postsecondary education, and we dreamed of opening a practice together. It was throughout our 4th and last year of chiropractic school that the vision for East Coast Chiropractic was born. We left Toronto (Marie’s hometown) for Fredericton (Graham’s hometown) in June of 2014 and started our career journey together here on the east coast.
We started off much smaller than we are now, with just the two of us and eventually one staff member. Our first space was located at 520 Brookside, the next building over, where Sunny Days daycare is now. We spent the first half of our first decade there, growing to two staff, an associate, adding in a digital x-ray unit, and hosting many workshops and events in our much smaller reception area. We loved it. But our vision continued to grow and in 2019 so did our space as we took over and built out our current location.
2020 and the years that followed were no doubt challenging, but also brought huge growth as a business because it made us rethink how we practiced and we took some leaps to better serve our community in a time of high stress and uncertainty. One thing we have learned, (and practiced), in our ten years is that evolution and reimagining is so necessary. We have changed our hours and schedules, appointment lengths, techniques, softwares, technologies, our literal walls, and added significantly to our team over the years. And we have never stopped learning. We continuously strive to be better at our craft by investing in ongoing continuing education in our respective specialties.
One of our highest values is delivering an exceptional healthcare experience. By adding counselling therapy, physiotherapy, an additional chiropractor with new and different talents, and a perinatal nurse/lactation consultant we have broadened our impact on our community’s wellness.
SAVE THE DATE: We are planning a big celebration to bring this community together and we would love for you to be a part of it! Our 10th birthday party will take place on Sunday, September 22nd from 2-4 pm (location TBD!)
